The Red Wings announced today that they have signed forward Eric Tangradi to a two-year contract extension.

Tangradi, 27, ranks No. 17 overall in AHL scoring this season, having racked up 24 goals and 25 assists in 60 games with the Grand Rapids Griffins.

He has played in one NHL game with the Wings this year, and he didn’t record any points.

A former second-round pick of the Anaheim Ducks, Tangradi has appeared in 144 NHL games during his career, recording five goals and 10 assists in stints with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Winnipeg Jets and Montreal Canadiens.

Detroit signed Tangradi to a one-year contract last July.
