Six Michigan natives slated to participate in AHL All-Star Classic

By @MichaelCaples –

Michigan didn’t fare too well in the 2019 NHL All-Star Game selections, but things are looking pretty good for the AHL edition.

After some reshuffling, the AHL All-Star Classic rosters feature six Michigan natives.

Congrats to the following players who will be participating in the two-day event in Springfield, Mass. this upcoming Sunday and Monday:

Christian Wolanin – Belleville Senators

Nathan Gerbe – Cleveland Monsters

Cooper Marody – Bakersfield Condors

Joel L’Esperance – Texas Stars

Reid Boucher – Utica Comets

Zach Redmond – Rochester Americans

Plymouth Whalers alum Chris Terry will also be in attendance, representing the Grand Rapids Griffins, while Farmington native and former Whalers bench boss Mike Vellucci (Charlotte Checkers) will coach the Atlantic Division squad. Michigan State alum Mason Appleton will also be participating in the All-Star Classic.
