Hockey fans can now plan out their trip to Traverse City next month to see some of the best top prospects for eight NHL teams.

The Red Wings have officially announced the schedule for their annual NHL Prospect Tournament, held at Centre Ice Arena in Traverse City from Friday, Sept. 11 to Tuesday, Sept. 15.

For the 17th edition of the tournament in northern Michigan, the field of teams feature prospects from the Red Wings, Carolina Hurricanes, Chicago Blackhawks, Columbus Blue Jackets, Dallas Stars, Minnesota Wild, New York Rangers and St. Louis Blues.

The tournament will be split into two four-team division: the Gordie Howe Division (Carolina, Chicago, Dallas and Detroit) and the Ted Lindsay Division (Columbus, Minnesota, N.Y. Rangers and St. Louis).

The teams are battling for the Matthew Wuest Memorial Cup, which will be presented to the winner on Sept. 15. The tournament’s championship trophy was re-named in honor of the founder of CapGeek.com and longtime blogger for RedWingsCentral.com.
