The Big Ten announced their stars of the week selections today, and two Michigan Wolverines were honored by their conference.

Max Shuart (Northville) claimed the B1G’s first star of the week, while teammate Michael Downing (Canton) took the No. 3 spot. The duo helped the Wolverines to a weekend split against Penn State at Yost Ice Arena this past weekend.

Shuart, a Muskegon Lumberjacks product, scored in Friday night’s 3-2 loss, then added three assists in the Wolverines’ lopsided 8-1 win on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Downing, a Detroit Catholic Central and Dubuque Fighting Saints alum, scored a goal in both games for the Wolverines.
