Nagelvoort receives another B1G Hockey weekly honor

Holland, Mich., native Zach Nagelvoort just keeps on racking up the Big Ten hockey weekly honors.

For the fourth time this season, the Wolverines’ freshman goaltender was named one of the three stars of the week, this time taking the top spot.

Nagelvoort stopped 29 of the 31 shots he faced to help No. 3 Michigan tie then-No. 4 Ferris State 2-2 last Wednesday at Yost (the Bulldogs have since moved to No. 2 in the USCHO college hockey poll).

That meant that Nagelvoort led all Big Ten goalies in save percentage (.935) and goals-against average (1.85) for the week. Nagelvoort currently ranks second in the nation in goals-against (1.67) and fourth in save percentage (.944).

He has allowed two goals or less in eight of his ten outings this season.

Wisconsin’s Michael Mersch and Brad Navin were the other two stars of the week for the Big Ten.
