Report: NHL, NHLPA looking at Jan. 13 season start with realigned divisions

By @StefanKubus –

By now, the NHL season is typically in full swing.

But as of Wednesday, we’re still a month away from games being played, but the good news is it seems the plan is still on track.

Per TSN’s Pierre LeBrun, the latest report has the NHL looking at a January 13 start with a 56-game season.

In an effort to reduce travel and keep player safety at the forefront, the league is reportedly looking at a massive division realignment. Albeit a reimagined version given the extreme circumstances, this would put Detroit back in a Central Division again.
