PHOTOS: Red Wings, Avalanche revisit rivalry days in third period Sunday night

Michael Rasmussen was born in 1999.

That means he certainly doesn’t remember much from the good ole’ days of the Red Wings vs. Avalanche rivalry.

He experienced a little bit of it Sunday night, however, as for the first 10 minutes of the third period, the older generations watching the game were left wondering what year it was.

Two fights and an incident at the Red Wings’ bench that almost started a third led to plenty of fireworks and fisticuffs at Little Caesars Arena. To the dismay of the home crowd, the Avs ended up prevailing 2-0 (that included an empty-netter at the end).
