Red Wings recall Dominic Turgeon, assign David Booth to Grand Rapids

By @StefanKubus –

It seems David Booth’s time with the Red Wings has been put on hold for the time being.

The Red Wings announced Wednesday that they’ve assigned the Detroit native and Michigan State alum to Grand Rapids after he cleared waivers, while recalling forward Dominic Turgeon.

Booth, 33, posted four goals and one assist in 19 games with the Red Wings in a fourth-line role primarily. This 2017-18 season marked a NHL return for Booth after spending the past two seasons playing in the KHL overseas.

Turgeon, a 21-year-old former 3rd round pick of the Wings in 2014, skated in four games with Detroit and was sent down Tuesday prior to Wednesday’s recall.
