The accolades keep on coming for Torey Krug.

The American Hockey League announced today that the Livonia native has been selected as the CCM/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending on April 14.

During that time span, the former Michigan State captain recorded seven points and a +5 rating with the Providence Bruins. Krug had two goals and five assists over the week.

Last Friday, on his 22nd birthday, Krug notched two assists in a 3-2 Bruins’ win over Hershey. The next night, Krug set up both of Providence’s goals in a 2-0 road win over Springfield. Then, in his third game in as many days, Krug scored twice and assisted on another to lead the Bruins to a 4-1 win over Norfolk.

The Livonia native is now tied for eighth in AHL rookie scoring, and third amongst all defensemen in the league, with 44 points in 62 games. He also picked up an assist in his lone NHL game this season.

Krug signed with the Boston Bruins on March 25, 2012, after completing his junior season with the Spartans.
