College Hockey, Inc. has added some Michigan flavor to their roster.

The organization announced today that they have added Michigan native Kyle Lawson as their new director of education and recruitment.

Lawson, a New Hudson native, will work out of the Ann Arbor Ice Cube in Ann Arbor, in an office alongside the USA Hockey National Team Development Program. He’s no stranger to the NTDP, either – after playing for Honeybaked growing up, Lawsuit played for the NTDP before joining the Tri City Storm of the USHL. He went on to play for Jeff Jackson at Notre Dame and was a Carolina Hurricanes draft pick in 2005.

“We are thrilled to welcome Kyle Lawson and know he will thrive in this role, educating players and families on the many benefits of college hockey,” said Mike Snee, executive director of College Hockey, Inc. “Kyle is a passionate young man whose commitment to college hockey is genuine. We were fortunate to have a tremendous pool of qualified candidates but Kyle’s background, experiences, and enthusiasm set him apart. He will be a real asset to NCAA hockey.”

With Lawson being located in Michigan, College Hockey, Inc., will have offices in three college hockey hotbeds – Snee will remain located in Minnesota, and newly-promoted Nate Ewell (now deputy executive director) will remain located in Boston.

Lawson said in a press release that he is looking forward to working with College Hockey, Inc., to share the benefits of playing NCAA hockey with prospective players.

“I had the time of my life playing college hockey and getting a Notre Dame education,” Lawson said. “I know the benefits college hockey offers and am excited to relay those to young players and their families.”
