Ferris State’s CJ Motte named CCHA Goaltender of the Month

The Central Collegiate Hockey Association announced today that Ferris State goaltender CJ Motte has been named the league’s Gongshow Goaltender of the Month for January.

Motte, a St. Clair native, appeared in six games for the Bulldogs during the month, and recorded a 5-1-0 record with one shutout. The sophomore netminder posted a 1.34 goals-against average and a .949 save percentage during the timeframe, both of which were the top numbers posted by any CCHA goaltender. Motte allowed only eight goals during the month of January, while stopping 148 shots.

  • Alaska freshman John Keeney (who named CCHA Gongshow Rookie of the Month)
  • Miami freshman Ryan McKay
  • Western Michigan sophomore Frank Slubowski
