Quick hits

Zach Parise, sure to be one of the most sought-after free agents come July 1, has indicated he is interested in re-signing with the New Jersey Devils.  There have also been rumors that Parise could be one of the Red Wings’ main targets this offseason.

The Michigan Warriors, a Flint-based team in the NAHL, are making strides to win fans over in a city that is struggling financially.  The team announced it will be lowering ticket prices next season as the organization looks to establish itself in the community.

Lapeer native and Michigan State alum Jim Slater agreed to terms on a new contract with the Winnipeg Jets.  Slater, 29, played in 78 games last season and posted a career-high 21 points (13G, 8A).  The 2002 first-round draft pick has played in 449 career NHL games between Atlanta and Winnipeg and has notched 121 career points.

The Los Angeles Kings are having their Stanley Cup Parade today at 12 p.m. pacific time (3 p.m. ET).

Bauer is buying Cascade Helmets Holdings Inc. for $64 million in an attempt to expand the company’s patented helmet technology.
