Shaved Ice – June 12

Now that the playoffs are over, it’s finally time to shave…

Ben Fleck and Ryan Zuke joining you on this Tuesday morning for the first Shaved Ice in a few months.

Quick hits

In case you haven’t heard, the Los Angeles Kings beat the New Jersey Devils 6-1, claiming their first Stanley Cup in franchise history. Captain Dustin Brown had a goal and two assists, while Jeff Carter scored two goals. Goaltender Jonathan Quick earned the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP just moments before Brown received the Stanley Cup.

Michigan natives Alec Martinez and Matt Greene get our Michi-gamer nod – after all, it’s not every day that you win the Stanley Cup.

The AHL Playoffs came to an end last Saturday. The Norfolk Admirals swept the Toronto Marlies winning game four by a score of 6-1. This is the first Calder Cup for the Admirals franchise –Tampa Bay’s AHL affiliate.

Highlight reel

L.A. Kings Captain Dustin Brown receives the Stanley Cup from NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman.

Outside the Mitten
