Shaved Ice – Dec. 16

It’s Friday already?

Quick hits

The Red Wings built up a 3-1 lead by the 11:30 mark of the second period last night in Nashville, but eventually lost 4-3 to the Predators.

Tomas Holmstrom, Henrik Zetterberg, and Nicklas Lidstrom scored for the Wings. Two goals by Nashville captain Shea Weber proved to be the difference in the third.

The bad news continues for the Wings – Michigan native Chris Conner has been put on injured reserve because of a hand injury he suffered in the win over Pittsburgh. Tomas Tatar has been called up from Grand Rapids to fill Conner’s spot in the line-up.

In the college hockey realm, there’s a big rivalry game this weekend up north. Northern Michigan and Michigan Tech will meet in Marquette in a non-conference game for U.P. bragging rights.

And a special congratulations to former Compuware and Honeybaked player Mitch Jones, who just signed with the Plymouth Whalers. Jones could make his OHL debut this weekend.

Highlight reel

Here’s a video to cheer up all the Wings out there after the loss last night.
