Metro High School Invitational Recap

The Metro High School Invitational, played at Novi Ice Arena Nov. 18-19, helped kick off the start of the high school hockey season. The tournament showcased a battle for bragging rights between the Kensington Lakes Activities Association and the Oakland Activities Association. Five teams from each league participated, taking on two cross-conference schools.

The KLAA prevailed in convincing fashion, finishing with an 8-2 record over their neighbor conference.

“The Metro Invitational showcases the excellent sport of high school hockey,” said organizer and Novi Ice Arena GM Kris Barnes. “It is a great way for the teams to kick off their season with two games against some tremendous competition in a competitive, fun atmosphere. We look forward to hosting this event next year and in the years to follow.”
