Recruiting: Benji Eckerle commits to Arizona State

Benji Eckerle will have an easy time working on his tan in the coming seasons.

The Northville native has committed to Arizona State University.

Eckerle, 19, is in the midst of his first USHL season with the Tri-City Storm; he has 15 points in 40 games.

“I felt like it was a weight off my shoulders to finally announce my commitment to Arizona State,” Eckerle said, via the USHL. “Playing college hockey has been a goal of mine my whole [life], and something I’ve worked hard to achieve.”

After spending bantams and one year of 15U hockey with Compuware, he spent 2015-17 with Little Caesars, playing on the LC 16U and 18U squads, respectively.
