It was quite a weekend for a pair of Michigan natives playing together at Boston College.

Friday evening, Farmington Hills native and Boston College defenseman Megan Keller was given the 2017 Cammi Granato Award as the Women’s Hockey East Player of the Year at the league’s championship award banquet.

Keller – expected to be on Team USA for the upcoming Women’s Worlds in Plymouth – was the anchor of the Eagles’ blue line this year, helping BC to a 17-4-3 record while scoring six goals and a league-leading 21 assists. She was the only player in Hockey East to average more than an assist per game.

Two days later, Keller’s longtime Honeybaked/Boston College teammate and friend, Farmington native Andie Anastos, scored her second overtime goal in as many days to lead their Boston College club to the Hockey East conference title.

Anastos scored the game-winner 5:44 into overtime to lead BC to a 2-1 victory over Northeastern at Walter Brown Arena in Boston Sunday afternoon.

With the victory, the Eagles repeated as conference tournament champions.

Anastos was named MVP of the tournament, while Keller joined her on the All-Tournament Team.
