Two Michigan natives will be coming home with gold from the World Junior A Challenge.

With a 4-0 victory over Canada East Saturday night, the U.S. Junior Select Team – comprised of United States Hockey League players – won four straight games to capture the tournament title.

There are two Michigan natives on the U.S. roster – Brighton native Collin Adams and Clarkston native Paul Washe – along with a Western Michigan commit in Ethen Frank, a native of Nebraska.

Adams, a North Dakota commit and New York Islanders draft pick, finished the tournament with two goals and two assists for four points in five games, including one goal in tonight’s tournament-clinching win.

Washe, a Western Michigan commit, recorded one assist in five games.

Muskegon Lumberjacks forward Andrei Svechnikov – brother of Red Wings prospect Evgeny Svechnikov – set a tournament record with eight goals for Russia. He finished with 12 total points.
