When the Detroit Red Wings take on the Buffalo Sabres at Joe Louis Arena on Tuesday, Dec. 27, there will be quite the party at Joe Louis Arena.

The Wings have announced the details for their 1997 Stanley Cup Championship Celebration Night, which will will feature a pre-game ceremony, the Stanley Cup making an appearance at The Joe, fans having the chance to win autographed jerseys from members of the 1997 Cup-winning team, and a reunion for the players on that Red Wings roster.

The evening will start with a special pregame on-ice ceremony to honor the 20th anniversary of the team’s Stanley Cup run that ended the 42-year drought for Hockeytown. Ken Daniels and Mickey Redmond will host the ceremony that will reunite and recognize the players, coaches and staff from the ’97 championship team. It will start promptly at 7:30 p.m. and air on Fox Sports Detroit.

Fans will have the chance to win a jesey “off the back” and autographed by a member of the ’97 team and get their photo taken with the Stanley Cup.

The first 5,000 fans in attendance will receive Locker Room Hats styled in honor of the widely-popular Stanley Cup Championship black and suede hats worn by the Wings after they captured Lord Stanley’s Cup.

The Conn Smythe Trophy – won by Mike Vernon that year – and the Clarence S. Campbell Bowl – given to the Wings for winning the Western Conference Playoff Championship – will be on display outside of Section 112.
