New arcade-style hockey video game coming to consoles in 2017

Miss the days of Wayne Gretzky 3D Hockey on Nintendo 64 or NHL Hitz on Playstation 2?

We have (some potentially) good news.

There is a new video game coming out from V7 Entertainment for Playstation 4, Xbox One and Steam called “Old Time Hockey.” See the game’s full website here.

From the announcement trailer, it looks like the game’s full of everything those old arcade-style games contained, with a “Slap Shot” flavor to it.

There’s one problem, of course – clearly they couldn’t get a licensing deal with the NHL, so this one’s going to be a little like the “Backyard Sports” franchise with generic characters…just ones who will apparently drop the gloves with you whenever you would like.
