Boys High School Hockey Players of the Week: Jan. 20 (presented by Lawrence Tech Hockey)

HS Hockey coverageFor the first time, high school hockey in the State of Michigan will have players of the week.

The Michigan High School Hockey Coaches’ Association and Lawrence Tech Hockey have teamed up to create new players of the week and players of the month awards, and they have formed a selection committee to help with the process.

Each week, the committee members will take the top nominated players by their respective coaches and high school programs and rank the individual performances. From there, players will be selected from their respective divisions as ‘players of the week.’

Here are the third Lawrence Tech Hockey High School Players of the Week (for games played from Jan. 11-17):

North Region- Corey Tourtillot (Sr. Forward, Hancock)
Honorable Mention: Rory Anderson (Jr. Forward, Calumet), Jacob Kruse (Jr. Forward, Houghton)

South Region- Matt Pankow (Sr. Goaltender, Pinckney)
Honorable Mention: Brennen Wright (So. Forward, Chelsea), Khegan Harvey (Jr. Goaltender, Ann Arbor Skyline)

Central Region- Max DiCicco (Sr. Forward, Howell)
Honorable Mention: Andrew Michalowski (Sr. Forward, Midland Dow), Patrick Hoedeman (Sr. Goaltender, Flint Powers)

West Region- Brody Vanderlinde (Sr. Forward, Reeths-Puffer)

Metro East- Brendan Nelson (Sr. Forward, Grosse Pointe North)

Metro West- Joe Alcantara (Sr. Forward, Livonia Stevenson)
