Boys High School Hockey Players of the Month for December (presented by Lawrence Tech Hockey)

The Michigan High School Hockey Coaches’ Association and Lawrence Tech Hockey have teamed up to create new players of the week and players of the month awards, and they have formed a selection committee to help with the process.

For the month of December, the committee – which features MiHockey editor Michael Caples as one of the voters – has selected players of the month for geographical divisions across the state.

Here are the players of the month for December:

 

North Region

Reid Pietila – Forward – Senior – Houghton

Pietila recorded 10 goals, five assists and a +5 rating in nine games played.

Honorable mentions: Parker Hebden (TC Central), Rory Anderson (Calumet)

 

South Region

Connor Smith – Forward – Senior – Pinckney

Smith racked up 15 goals and two assists in six games over December.

Honorable mentions: Alec Daman (Chelsea), Noah Helber (Saline)

 

Central Region

Max DiCicco – Forward – Senior – Howell

DiCicco posted 10 goals and 10 assists in only eight games.

Honorable mentions: Travis Nemeth (Midland Dow), Niko Montrose (Grand Ledge/Fowlerville)

 

West Region

Trevor Stephenson – Goaltender – Sophomore – East Kentwood

Stephenson played to a 6-1 record with a 1.71 goals-against average, a .927 save percentage and two shutouts.

Honorable mentions: Connor Foss (Rockford), Wil Fisher (GR West Catholic)

 

Metro West Region

Adam Olson – Defenseman – Senior – Livonia Stevenson

Olson recorded three goals and seven assists in six games on the blue line for Stevenson.

Honorable mentions: Chase Wallis (Livonia Franklin), Ian Smith (Walled Lake Central)

 

Metro East Region

Logan Jenuwine – Forward – Senior – Romeo

Jenuwine racked up 10 goals and 12 assists in seven games for Romeo in December.

Honorary mentions: Drew Casey (Lake Orion), Andrew Brooks (Macomb Dakota)

 

Metro North Region

Justin Mazzetti – Forward – Senior – L’Anse Creuse North

Mazzetti recorded 10 goals and five assists, along with a +11 rating, in December.

Honorary mentions: Mitchell Shults (Brother Rice), Kevin Lalik (Warren Mott)

 

Metro South Region

Kyle Clausen – Forward – Senior – Southgate Anderson

Clausen posted six goals and seven assists in six games during December.

Honorary mentions: Cameron Chabot (Allen Park), Griffin Sawyer (Trenton)
