Wolverines’ Kyle Connor named B1G first star of the week

Not much of a surprise here.

After a dominating weekend against Minnesota, Kyle Connor was named the Big Ten’s first star of the week today.

The Wolverines’ freshman forward racked up five goals and an assist in his team’s weekend split against the Golden Gophers, while also playing to a +5 rating.

In their Friday night 8-3 win, the Shelby Township native and reigning USHL Player of the Year recorded a hat trick and an assist.

He followed that performance up by scoring both of Michigan’s goals in a 3-2 loss Saturday night.
