USA Hockey announced today their preliminary roster for the upcoming IIHF World Championship, and two big-name Michigan natives are on the list.

University of Michigan freshman Dylan Larkin will be one of the youngest players in the tournament, as USA Hockey confirmed previous reports that he will indeed play for Team USA at the World Championship.

He will be joined by Livonia native and MSU alum Torey Krug, who recorded 12 goals and 27 assists for the Boston Bruins this season.

Grand Haven native Dan Bylsma, former head coach of the Pittsburgh Penguins, will be one of the assistant coaches for Team USA. Columbus Blue Jackets head coach Todd Richards will serve in the same capacity for the Americans at the World Championship.

The IIHF World Championship begins on May 1 in the Czech Republic.
