It didn’t take very long for Pavel Datsyuk to make his presence felt around the National Hockey League.

The Russian superstar has only played in six games this season, but the last three of them earned him the league’s ‘second star of the week’ recognition.

Datsyuk recorded seven points in three games last week, leading the Red Wings to five out of a possible six points in the standings during the time frame. He posted one goal and one assist in a 4-2 win over Washington, two goals and an assist in a 5-2 win over Los Angeles and one goal and one assist in a 3-2 shootout loss to Buffalo yesterday.

The ‘Magic Man’ has ten points since making his season debut late, due to a shoulder injury suffered in the preseason.

The sixth-round pick of the Wings in 1998 is off to a personal-best start with those 10 points in six games.
