The Red Wings will be holding their eighth annual Breast Cancer Awareness Night on Saturday, Oct. 11, when they welcome the Anaheim Ducks to The Joe.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for a 7 p.m. puck drop, giving fans the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities during the night. The Wings will be holding a silent auction, a mystery puck draw, a 50/50 raffle and a special sale of Detroit winter knit hats, with all proceeds benefiting the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute.

The funds raised will help with costs associated to breast cancer screening and treatment for uninsured or underinsured women in the metro Detroit area.

Fans who wear pink attire to the game will be entered to win a 2014-15 team-signed jersey by picking up a raffle ticket behind Section 126. There, fans can also partake in the puck draw or bid on 42 different items at the silent auction.

Several ‘significant others’ of the Red Wings’ players will be helping out by selling pucks as part of the mystery draw when doors open. For $35, fans will have a chance to draw from an assortment of 300 pucks signed by members of the 2014-15 team. The fan who opens the puck signed in gold by goaltender Jimmy Howard will get to meet him after the contest.

Detroit’s Original Six squad will also tape their sticks with pink tape, for use during warm-ups. Those sticks will then be autographed and auctioned off during the game.

Other unique items that fans can bid on include:

  • 2013-14 team-signed Winter Classic replica jersey
  • Defenseman Brendan Smith’s tickets to the Red Wings game on Sunday, Nov. 9 against the Tampa Bay Lightning with a post-game meet and greet
  • 2014-15 team-signed Jimmy Howard goalie stick
  • Variety of Red Wings experiences, including the opportunity to ride the Zamboni at a Red Wings game
