Eight Michigan names on World Junior camp invite list

USA Hockey has announced the 42 players invited to the 2014 National World Junior Evaluation Camp, and eight Michigan names made the list.

The players will begin competing for spots on Team USA’s World Junior roster from August 2-9 in Lake Placid, New York. Participants will practice and compete in international games against Sweden, Finland and the Czech Republic.

Goaltenders

Brandon Halverson – Traverse City, Mich. – Soo Greyhounds (OHL) – 2014 Draft Eligible

Alex Nedeljkovic – Parma, Ohio. – Plymouth Whalers (OHL) – 2014 Draft Eligible

Defensemen

Michael Downing – Canton, Mich. – University of Michigan (Big Ten) – Florida (’13, 4th round, 97th overall)

Forwards

J.T. Compher – Northbrook, Ill. – University of Michigan (Big Ten) – Buffalo (’13, 2nd round, 35th overall)

Kyle Connor – Shelby Township, Mich. – Youngstown Phantoms (USHL) – 2015 Draft Eligible

Dylan Larkin – Waterford, Mich. – U.S. National Under-18 Team (USHL) – 2014 Draft Eligible

Michael McCarron – Macomb, Mich. – London Knights (OHL) – Montreal (’13, 1st round, 25th overall)

Tyler Motte – St. Clair, Mich. – University of Michigan (Big Ten) – Chicago (’13, 4th round, 121st overall)
