By Michael Caples –

Just a few hours before the start of the 2014 USHL Draft, the Muskegon Lumberjacks announced a trio of trades that will bring two Michigan natives back home next fall.

The USHL club announced that they have acquired Algonac native Tom Marchin and Trenton native Griffen Molino in trades with the Lincoln Stars and Sioux Falls Stampede, respectively.

In their trade for Molino, the Lumberjacks send Muskegon native Chaz Switzer, along with two draft picks, to the Stampede.

Molino, a Western Michigan commit, recorded eight goals and 31 assists, along with a +8 rating, last season with the Stampede.

Marchin, posted six goals and 12 assists in 52 games with the Stars this season, his first in the USHL. He also played in four games with the US NTDP program during the 2012-13 season.

Muskegon also sent Pittsburgh native Matt Mendelson to the Bloomington Thunder in exchange for a third-round pick during tomorrow’s Phase 2 draft.
