Michigan State captain Greg Wolfe had quite a weekend on the stats sheet, and the Big Ten league office has recognized him as one of their players of the week because of it.

Wolfe, a Canton native and senior forward for the Spartans, was named the league’s third star of the week after registering a point on every MSU goal during their weekend set with the Ohio State Buckeyes. Michigan State played both games to a 2-2 tie before losing consecutive shootouts.

Wolfe, a Honeybaked product, recorded three goals and one assist on the weekend; one goal and one assist in Friday’s contest, and two goals on Saturday. He now has 11 goals on the season, good for fifth-most in the Big Ten.

Wisconsin goaltender Joel Rumpel took the top sot, while Penn State goaltender Matthew Skoff was the second star of the week.
