The U.S. National Team Development Program Under-18 Team may have wore Darth Vader jerseys on Jan. 18, but it was for good, not evil

The team auctioned off the specially designed Star Wars jerseys they wore in a game at the Ann Arbor Ice Cube last month, and raised more than $4,100 for nearby C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital.

“The Star Wars Jersey auction was a huge success,” said Scott Monaghan, senior director of operations for the NTDP, in a release. “Not only were we able to provide our fans with the opportunity to purchase game-worn jerseys, but also raise money to support a local children’s hospital. It has been a great experience and the NTDP is looking forward to raising even more money next year.”

C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, also in Ann Arbor, is part of the University of Michigan Hospital and Health Centers, and it is consistently ranked as one of the best pediatric hospitals in the country.
