Griffins asking fans to sign card for Whitecaps at home games through Jan. 18

The Grand Rapids Griffins are working towards supporting one of their neighbor teams.

The AHL club is asking all the fans that attend Van Andel Arena during their six-game homestand through Jan. 18 to sign a card for the West Michigan Whitecaps as the team deals with a major fire at their ballpark – Fifth Third Ballpark – that happened five days ago.

The Whitecaps are the Detroit Tigers’ Class A Affiliate club; Fifth Third Ballpark seats 10,000 people and is located just outside Grand Rapids.

The card will be located on the concourse at the top of the steps coming up from the Van Andel Arena lobby.
