Wolverines announce four signings for 2014-15 season

The University of Michigan announced their incoming recruiting class today, formally welcoming four new players to the Wolverines’ program.

Michigan natives Dylan Larkin (U.S. NTDP U18 team) and Cutler Martin (USHL’s Tri-City Storm) officially signed with UM this week, along with forward Dexter Dancs (Vancouver, BC) and goaltender Hayden Lavigne (Brampton, Ont.)

“We’re excited about the four student-athletes in this class and what they’ll bring to the program,” said associate head coach Billy Powers in a release. “It’s particularly an exciting time for Coach (Brian) Wiseman, who got to put his handprint on this class when he first arrived at Michigan two years ago.”

Dexter Dancs: Currently playing with the Vernon Vipers of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) … One of three forwards in the BCHL to make NHL Central Scouting Mid-Term Rankings in 2013 … Has 28 points (9G, 19A) in 23 games this season … Traded from Penticton Vees to Vernon in Dec. 2012.

Dylan Larkin: Currently playing with the United States National Team Development Program (USNTDP) Under-18 team … One of three USHL players to be named an “A” skater on the NHL Central Scouting Preliminary 2014 North American Ones to Watch List … Has 11 points (6G, 5A) in nine games this season … Played in the 2013 CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game, recording a goal and an assist … Recorded 27 points (13g, 14a) in 55 games with the Under-17 team in 2012-13 … Played with the Belle Tire Midget Minor (Mich.) program before joining the USNTDP.

Hayden Lavigne: Currently playing with the Tri-City Storm of the United States Hockey League (USHL) … One of three USHL players to be named a “B” goaltender on the NHL Central Scouting Preliminary 2014 North American Ones to Watch List … Went 9-7-1 with a 2.48 goals-against average and .922 save percentage with the Wellington Dukes of the OJHL in 2012-13.

Cutler Martin: Currently playing with the Tri-City Storm of the United States Hockey League (USHL) … Has five points (G, 4A) in 15 games this season … Recorded 16 points (4g, 12a) in 59 games with Tri-City in 2012-13 … Played with the Victory Honda (Mich.) U18 Midget Major program before joining Tri-City Storm.
