After being named the Big Ten’s third star of the week last week, Zach Nagelvoort moved up a spot.

This week, the Wolverines’ freshman goaltender was named the conference’s second star of the week, after helping Michigan sweep Michigan Tech in a weekend set.

Nagelvoort, a Holland, Mich., native, recorded 56 saves in the weekend, good for a .949 save percentage and 1.47 goals-against average in the Wolverines’ back-to-back wins.

On Friday, he matched his career-high total for saves, posting 34 in a 3-2 overtime win for UM.

Then, on Saturday, he stopped 22 of 23 to lead Michigan to a 2-1 win.

Nagelvoort currently ranks second in the nation in goals-against average (1.47) and third in save percentage (.948).
