The Red Wings announced some big roster moves today, as the Original Six club has recalled Darren Helm from Grand Rapids.

Helm, who has been battling a back injury that limited him to only one game last year, completed a two-game conditioning stint with the Grand Rapids Griffins this weekend. He recorded three shots and a -1 rating in the Griffins’ home opener on Friday, and one shot and a +1 rating Saturday against the Rockford IceHogs.

The Wings also recalled defenseman Xavier Ouellet, and they assigned Grand Rapids native Luke Glendening back to the Griffins.

Glendening, 24, made his NHL debut when the Wings took on the Flyers on Oct. 12. He has played in five NHL games, recording two penalty minutes and six shots on goal on an average of 9:31 worth of ice time.
