Shaved Ice – April 26

Win or golf (maybe).

The Red Wings picked up another crucial win last night, beating the Nashville Predators 5-2 at Joe Louis Arena. Here’s our recap from the game.

The only problem, though, is that the Blue Jackets won last night, too. That means that the final two playoff spots (yes, Minnesota’s in jeopardy of missing, too) hang in the balance of the last day of the regular season. Detroit visits Dallas tomorrow, while Minnesota has games today and tomorrow, and Columbus plays Nashville tomorrow.

If the Wings win, they’re in. If they lose, well, they have to hope that Columbus loses too.

While the Red Wings don’t know what their postseason plans are yet, the Griffins do. Grand Rapids begins the Calder Cup Playoffs tonight in Houston. Get ready for the series with our preview, highlighting Michigan natives Chad Billins and Luke Glendening.

The Whalers try to avoid elimination from the OHL playoffs tonight when they take on London in Game 5 of their Western Conference Finals match-up.

Former Whalers star A.J. Jenks is tearing it up in Florida. Check out this article, published a day after we picked him to be our Michi-gamer.

While two spots are up for grabs in the West, the East is all set for the playoffs.
