Shaved Ice – March 29

DeKeyser Watch continues.

You know, we were waiting for Danny DeKeyser to make a decision before posting Shaved Ice today, but…well, we’re posting Shaved Ice anyways. Look like the reports of him announcing his decision at noon were not reliable. We’re still anxiously waiting to see where the Michigan native and Western Michigan defenseman ends up.

Keep tabs on the situations by following us on Twitter.

The NCAA Division 1 Men’s Hockey Tournament is officially underway. Check out who we think’s going to win by clicking here.

The Whalers are currently waiting for their second-round series to get going – the club swept the Sting earlier this week, which means they have to sit around and wait for all the other OHL series to conclude. Get caught up from the first-round series right here.

The National Collegiate Hockey Conference released their composite schedule two days ago, revealing a large portion of the Western Michigan Broncos’ schedule, and that they will be in the Great Lakes Invitational next year.

We would show you Red Wings highlights from last night, but let’s face it…you don’t want to watch that. Instead, here’s the latest from the Griffins. Because they make sweet videos.

Farmington Hills native Alex Aleardi is our Michi-gamer of the night after scoring the game-winner in his first professional hockey game.

The Penguins are still waiting for Jerome Iginla to actually arrive in Pittsburgh.

Now, Calgary trade rumors are centered around defenseman Jay Bouwmeester; if the Flames move him, he could actually get to play in some playoff games for once. The same report says that Marty St. Louis is not available for trade.

The Bruins thought they had a deal in place for Iginla, and they aren’t being very quiet with their displeasure over the Calgary captain ending up in Pittsburgh.

Darren Eliot’s latest ‘Special DElivery’ gives some tips to new (and old) hockey coaches for the spring season.

Wonder what we’ll be up to next…
