Shaved Ice – Jan. 8

Happy Tuesday, everybody.

Now that the Red Wings are coming back, we decided to take a look at the roster situation. Check out our answers to some of the hot topics surrounding the Red Wings right here.

Alex Aleardi has been traded to Windsor in exchange for a 19-year-old forward, getting the Whalers under the ‘underager’ cap.

Speaking of the Whalers, Connor Carrick is our Michi-gamer of the day.

The latest college hockey polls have been released, and, per usual, the Western Michigan Broncos take the top spot for all Michigan-based teams.

The Muskegon Lumberjacks have announced that Keith Sullivan is now the GM, along with his current role as VP, of the USHL club.

The first high school hockey rankings of 2013 have been released, as well – check them out right here to see if your team made the cut.

Tonight the Wolverines host the Bowling Green Falcons at Yost – every game is a must-win for Michigan at this point, as they currently sit in 7th place in the CCHA standings.

Check out the Jan. 2 edition of CCHA Now.

Check out the NHL season preview from TSN. Necessary, at this point, because I can barely remember who signed with who over the off-season.

Even though they talked about it during the lockout, the ‘where is Roberto Luongo going to go‘ talk is really heating up now.

Bobby Orr is going to publish his memoirs next October. I have a feeling that he will sell a few copies of that…I already can’t wait to get my hands on a copy.

Zach Parise and Ryan Suter have finally skated in Minnesota. Took a while, guys…

The intro pyrotechnics show for an outdoor game in Germany should put the pressure on the NHL to make next year’s Winter Classic – yeah, we’re still expecting that at the Big House, Gary – an even more memorable experience.

Yost tonight to watch the Wolverines take on Bowling Green.
