Today started off with big news about Michigan’s two Ontario Hockey League teams. Saginaw Spirit captain Vincent Trocheck tweeted that he was going to be joining the Plymouth Whalers, and it was confirmed a few hours later that he was traded between the in-state rivals, in exchange for Zach Bratina and some draft picks.

Big roster transition news continued throughout the day – the Whalers made a trade for Sebastian Uvira of the Oshawa Generals.

Then, the Michigan Daily reported that freshman forward Daniel Milne has left the University of Michigan hockey program.

Yesterday, the Wolverines picked up a commitment from Jared Walsh of the OJHL’s St. Michael’s Buzzers.

In other recruiting news news, defenseman Corey Schueneman of the Michigan Warriors has committed to play for Western Michigan.

And from late yesterday, the Board of Governors approved the new CBA – and Gary Bettman issued a public apology to the fans.

You have to at least watch this to see how small the goalie pads were. Plus, a young Doug Weight makes an appearance or two.

Columbus prospect Ryan Murray had a successful shoulder surgery today; he was injured a few months ago but had to wait for all the swelling to leave before the operation could commence.
