CCHA Players of the Week – Jan. 14

After allowing only two goals in a weekend series against No. 2 Notre Dame, Michigan State goaltender Jake Hildebrand was named the CCHA’s goaltender of the week. Meanwhile, Western Michigan defenseman Kenney Morrison picked up three assists on the weekend, which made him the league’s rookie of the week.

Postgame® Offensive Player of the Week

Cody Kunyk, UA

Jr., F (Sherwood Park, AB)

Kunyk had an assist in a 5-4 win at Michigan on Friday and scored twice and was the Perani Cup second star in a 4-1 win over the  Wolverines on Saturday.

Gladiator® Defenseman of the Week

Michael Quinn, UA                     

Jr. (Surrey, BC)

Quinn had a goal, an assist and was the Perani Cup first star in a 5-4 win at Michigan on Friday and added two assists in a 4-1 win on Saturday to complete a sweep of the Wolverines.  He also finished +2 on the weekend.

Warrior® Goaltender of the Week

Jake Hildebrand, MSU

Fr. (Butler, PA)

Hildebrand stopped 32 shots and was the Perani Cup second star in a 1-0 loss to Notre Dame on Friday and made 33 saves and was the Perani Cup first star in a 4-1 win over the Irish on Saturday.

Gongshow® Rookie of the Week

Kenney Morrison, WMU

D (Lloydminster, AB)

Morrison had an assist in a 1-1 tie with Lake Superior on Friday and added two assists and was the Perani Cup third star in a 3-1 win over the Lakers on Saturday.
