Shaved Ice – December 6

Who stayed up late for #PodiumWatch? (Raises hand)

The Ilitch proposal for a “new building” in downtown Detroit has been approved by the Michigan Senate. Now, it goes to the Michigan House of Representatives. Everything has to be approved by the end of the 2011-12 session, which ends this month.

Get. It. Done.

Our Michi-gamer nod goes to former Plymouth Whalers star J.T. Miller, who had a pair of goals in AHL action last night.

Last night, a NHL podium appeared at the hotel where the CBA negotiations have been taking place. Media & fans jumped on the ‘news’, getting everyone excited that a potential announcement (read: lockout is over) could be coming. Instead, it turned into a big joke, including a new Twitter account. Here’s a little CCHA Rewind action to get you ready for the Spartans vs. Irish series this weekend.

Members of the media camped out at the official CBA hotel have been tweeting that they’re being shown the door for the day. Don’t know if that’s a good sign or a bad sign.

In Darren Eliot’s latest ‘Special DElivery’ blog, the MiHockey writer discusses how his outlook on the lockout is changing, due to a Nick Lachey sighting. Give it a read right here.

See you all tomorrow.
