Quick hits

The Central Collegiate Hockey Association announced their preseason all-conference teams today, as selected by the head coaches of the various schools. See the complete list right here. Spoiler alert: there’s some Michigan natives on it. Also, check out the list of all the CCHA games you can find on TV this season.

We’re rolling through our player profiles from the CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game. Check out our articles that came from conversations with Mike McCarron and Evan Allen right here. More players are coming throughout the week.

The Red Berenson Radio Show returns in about two and a half hours from me typing this. Follow that link to find out how you can listen to the show.

A delay in the start of the season is actually good news for Ryan Kesler; the Livonia native says he won’t be ready until at least January.

Highlight reel

Have you seen the Spartans’ new season video?

And you know, just to keep things balanced…here’s the Wolverines’ intro video from last season. Looks better on the giant screen at Yost, though.

Outside the Mitten

TSN’s Bob McKenzie tweeted that the NHL/NHLPA discussions are “going to hell in a handbasket” and will only get worse. Lovely.

Zdeno Chara is going to play for Prague in the KHL. That’s a big body to add to a roster. Sad to see another player giving up and going overseas though.

Can never go wrong with some Ken Kal trivia on Red Wings TV.
