Red Berenson announced yesterday that Wolverines defenseman Jon Merrill has a fractured vertebra from a hit sustained during Michigan’s exhibition win over Windsor on Tuesday.

The Whalers ran into a hot goalie during their trip to Owen Sound, and left with a 4-2 loss. Plymouth’s OHL team is now 2-2-1-1 on the season.

Mickey Redmond’s been lacing ’em up again; the Wings’ color commentator for TV broadcasts skated with members of the club on Wednesday in Troy.

Looks like there might be talks between the NHL and NHLPA for the rest of the week. Guess it’s a start, eh?

A court in Alberta has sided with the NHL in a lawsuit about unfair labor practices regarding the lockout.

ESPN says that the players’ union is currently crafting another proposal for the league.

For the majority of his hockey career, it’s been either green and white or red and white for Drew Miller. But in this photo posted by his new club in Scotland, the Red Wings’ forward will be adjusting to some new threads this fall.
