Shaved Ice – Feb. 29

Hello, hockey people.  We’ve reached mid-week and there’s no turning back.  Staffer Brian Kalisher here – yes, you’re stuck with me again – to fill all your hockey needs on this rainy day.

Quick hits

The Red Wings took the 5-2 road victory last night over the Columbus Blue Jackets and new acquisition, former Michigan man Jack Johnson.  Johan Franzen, Niklas Kronwall, Henrik Zetterberg, Jan Mursak and Valtteri Filppula were responsible for the tallies while Joey MacDonald stepped in to make 28 saves, earning a .933 save percentage.

The Wings take the ice again Friday at home against Michigan native Steven Kampfer and the Minnesota Wild.
