Shaved Ice – Dec. 13

Good morning, everyone.

Quick hits

There wasn’t much action on the ice last night, but there was plenty off of it.

Chris Chelios, Mike “Doc” Emrick, Ed Snider, Gary Suter and Keith Tkachuk were officially welcomed into the USA Hockey Hall of Fame at an induction ceremony last night in Chicago. Our friends at USAHockey.com had some great coverage of the event. Here are a few notable quotes from the night:

“I’ve always said that from the 30 years I’ve played the most enjoyment I’ve had is seeing my friends and family and going on these trips,” – Chris Chelios.

“I’m proud to be part of an American hockey generation that went from being happy keeping scores close against top teams in the world, to being one of the best teams in the world,” – Gary Suter.

Outside the Mitten

On any given night, you can find a Michigan-born player playing in the NHL. Yet last night, Kalamazoo Adam Hall was the only player from the Mitten to be earning a paycheck in the pros. See how he did on our Michi-gamer page.
