UPDATE: Red Wings assign, then recall Jonathan Ericsson from Grand Rapids

UPDATE (Sunday, 10:45 a.m.): Less than 24 hours later, the Red Wings announced that they have called up Jonathan Ericsson from Grand Rapids, while assigning goaltender Calvin Pickard back to the Griffins.

Jonathan Ericsson has been sent back to Grand Rapids.

The Red Wings announced today that the 35-year-old defenseman has been re-assigned to Grand Rapids after his recent call-up.

Ericsson played in seven games since being summoned by the Wings on Nov. 13; he played in seven games, recording no points and a -4 rating.

He was sent down to GR on Oct. 23. In 10 games with the Griffins this fall, he has recorded two points and a +4 rating.

The last pick of the 2002 NHL Draft has appeared in 669 NHL games, with 123 total points to his name.
