Wolverines’ Becker named Big Ten third star of the week

By @StefanKubus –

A three-goal weekend against Lake Superior State propelled Michigan’s Jack Becker to a weekly Big Ten honor.

Becker, a forward from Delwood, Minn., was named the Big Ten’s third star of the week for his efforts.

The 6-foot-4 Boston Bruins prospect first scored exactly halfway through Friday’s game to give Michigan a 3-0 lead before he added two more goals in Saturday’s game to help ensure a sweep of the Lakers.

In each of his first two seasons, Becker posted 15 points, but has three in three games so far this year.

This marks the second career weekly Big Ten honor for Becker.
