Red Wings’ 23-man roster officially set

A few minor roster moves later, the Red Wings’ 23-man roster for the season-opening weekend is officially set.

The Red Wings announced today that they have placed Chase Pearson on non-roster injured reserve and assigned Jared McIsaac to the QMJHL’s Halifax Mooseheads, the final moves necessary to reach their 23-man roster.

More substantial roster decisions were announced on Sept. 28 and Sept. 29; Filip Zadina and Joe Veleno were some of the players assigned to Grand Rapids on Saturday, while Michael Rasmussen and Moritz Seider were among those sent down on Sunday.

Detroit will be carrying 13 forwards, eight defensemen and two goals for the beginning of the team’s 94th season.
