Team USA World Junior Summer Showcase split-squad rosters set

The 2019 World Junior Summer Showcase is set for USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth from July 26-Aug. 3.

On Tuesday, USA Hockey unveiled the breakdown for its two squads participating in the event alongside Finland, Sweden and Canada.

Michigan natives Johnny Gruden (Rochester Hills), Christian Krygier (Novi) and Alec Regula (West Bloomfield) will suit up for Team Blue, along with National Team Development Program alumni Spencer Knight, Cam York, Cole Caufield, Joel Farabee, Owen Lindmark, John Beecher, Mattias Samuelsson, Spencer Stastney, Ty Emberson and Alex Turcotte.

Team White will feature Michigan State netminder Drew DeRidder (Fenton), defenseman Bode Wilde (Birmingham; Saginaw Spirit), forwards Nick Robertson (Northville), Blade Jenkins (Jackson; Saginaw Spirit) and Arthur Kaliyev (Compuware and Little Caesars alum). Joining them will be NTDP alumni Matthew Boldy, Jacob Pivonka, Oliver Wahlstrom, Trevor Zegras, Trevor Janicke, K’Andre Miller, Drew Helleson, Alex Vlasic and Case McCarthy.

USA Hockey also announced that Red Wings prospect Robert Mastrosimone will not attend due to injury.

Additionally, Team White will have Grand Rapids Griffins head coach Ben Simon on the bench.
