Red Wings home opener set for Sunday, Oct. 6 against Dallas

A former Central Division rivalry will reignite for the Red Wings’ 2019-20 home opener.

On Sunday, Oct. 6, Detroit will host the Dallas Stars to kick off the season, a 5:00 p.m. start at Little Caesars Arena.

Detroit has won five of its last six home openers and holds an all-time mark of 51-31-9-1 on opening night. The Wings have opened its home schedule against the Stars twice and split the two games, a 2-1 Stars win in 2013 and a 3-1 Wings win in 1997.

The complete 2019-20 regular season schedule will be unveiled on Tuesday.
