EA SPORTS announces Auston Matthews as NHL 20 cover athlete, releases trailer

The newest trailer for NHL 20 is here.

As is tradition, EA SPORTS has released a teaser for its newest installment in the long-running video game franchise at the NHL Awards show in Las Vegas Wednesday night.

USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program alum Auston Matthews was revealed to be the cover athlete, making him just the third U.S. player to grace the cover since shifting to individual players in 1996 with Michigan native and then Florida Panthers netminder John Vanbiesbrouck in NHL 97. Patrick Kane (NHL 10) is the other American-born player in that group.

NHL 20 will release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One September 13 in time for the start of the 2019-20 NHL campaign.
